In my annual recap episode, I am looking back at the topics that I’ve covered this year and forward to the changes that 2024 will bring for the podcast.

Every year, there are more and more podcasts. But the ones I really like seem to be dying. Sadly, FLOSS Weekly is no more. I got to be on the show once, it was an honour.

The Year 2023 in Review

I’ve only recorded 25 episodes this year, which in my mind is an abject failure. After 50 episode in 2020, 53 episodes in 2021 and 35 episodes in 2022, this show is on a trajectory that I do not like and want to stop. More on that later, though.

First, let’s look at what I actually managed to talk about this year.

The Twitter Files

The War in Ukraine

Censorship and Privacy Issues in the EU

The SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic

The Collapse of Modern Western Society

Discrete Topical Episodes

Special Episodes

Outlook for 2024

One of my top priorities for next year is to get the podcast back on track. I’m not quite sure how to get that done yet, but I’ve scheduled some time in the next two weeks to work out a plan. The situation as it stands is just not acceptable. I’m planning to start off the new year with this plan and get back to weekly releases anything else won’t do. This will take a major reorganisation of how I’ve been working in the last two years, but I don’t think there’s any way around that, to be honest. It has to happen.
